They are becoming so far lost that it is really scary.
Think back only 60 years ago. Think about what people called right and wrong, good and bad, morally just and unjust.
Now, I am no so naive to say that everyone behaved perfectly.
But, the majority of people would confess to a level or a standard of morality that existed. People are violently sinful and knowing this standard of morality actually excites them (us, and me) to break it.
It is like having a child around the hot stove. If you left the child to him or her self, they would probably be fine. They would probably sense the heat and stay away or at least stay safe. (now to a certain age of course, I am not talking about a 2 year old that may not be able to comprehend the danger) But as soon as you say, "Don't touch the stove, its hot!" What is the first thing that they want to do? They want to touch the stove. They often do touch the stove.
The bible actually directly addresses this behavior or state of mind.
St. Paul is talking about grace compared to the law and the nature of man and the law. He actually says that knowing the law drives us to want to break the law. So, I am not trying to romanticize the past or forget about people's actions or behaviors. I am talking about the knowledge of truth, God, and morality.
In America, society use to have a morality, even if it was a cosmetic one. People did not divorce. Now this may have been because God hates divorce, or it may have been because they did not want to be outcasts in their neighborhood. Probably some of both. But today it is totally different. People don't even have a sense of right or wrong in this area. This is because we have been moved, (I believe in a consorted, non accidental way) into a philosophy of Relativism.
Relativism not only says that there is no "right or wrong" but it even says that there is no absolute truth. This is a logical fallacy and all Relativistic ideas, statements, or anything - break down when put to logical analysis. But, that doesn't stop people from believing it or embracing it. Think about the influences that the generations of children are under. 50 years ago The Beatles came to America singing, "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" and "Love Love Me Do".
Go out and study the music that is out there today.
Think about the movies and television shows that children watched before compared to now. How about the exposure to pornography!
Along with all of these specific things there is an over all sense being pushed on the thoughts and minds of children and teens that there is no God, that they are just animals, and that there is no absolute right and wrong.
The only thing keeping society together is the morality that was designed into us. The blessing that God has given us and the way in which He is still working with us. We take that for granted. People don't understand that when they want liberality, what they actually want is brutal dictatorship, death, destruction, lawlessness, and terror.
This may be a hard concept to understand, but it is true.
And this is the direction today's youth are moving in. I believe it is the effort of the major government, banking, and business entities because in order to enslave a free nation, a free people, you have to take away all notion of who they are, where they came from, their value, their God given rights, and the government' proper place. Once people think that they are just animals, then they will start to act like animals, then the government can start treating them like animals. That is the cycle of most past goverments and it always goes from freedom, to loose living, to tyranny! Wake up America!
