Mine kitchen is small... which is to be expected, since I live in a small two bedroom house. It's laid out in a U-shape. The left side of the U is a small counter and then the sink. The bottom of the U is two small counters flanking the stove. The right side of the U is the fridge and then a peninsula counter that contains the dishwasher separating the kitchen from the living room. My house is old, so the cupboards are plain white, and the counter-top is that cheap plastic laminate stuff...done elegantly in a "faux marble" style. At the opening of the U is a small open area where my table is. The floor was put in new before I moved in...it's a lovely tan linoleum. The kitchen has more cupboard space than I thought it would. When I moved in, I actually had empty cupboards, although they're filled now. About the only things that could be considered even marginally decorative are my wall calendar and my plastic bag holder that my grandma made me. My fridge is covered with pictures of family.
